Why this rating
Zambia is majority-Black and politically stable, and the US rates it Level 1, the lowest level in this batch. The FCDO describes cities and major game parks as generally safe by day, with carjacking and night-time road travel the main risks. Essence has featured it as a destination and Black-owned tour company Black & Abroad runs trips there, but we found little reporting specifically on Black visitors' treatment, so confidence is low.
