The US rates Tajikistan Level 2 with Level 3 for the Afghan border and GBAO; the FCDO has no no-go areas but reports cross-border attacks in November 2025 and a fatal clash in Darvoz in August 2026. There is almost no documented evidence on Black travellers specifically; regional guidance suggests heavy staring and stereotyping, so this rating relies mainly on general safety and confidence is low.
