Why this rating
The FCDO advises against all travel to the south, the Beqaa, Baalbek-Hermel, Akkar, Tripoli and parts of southern Beirut, and against all but essential travel to the rest of the country; the US rates Lebanon Level 4. UN CERD raised concern over the kafala system, under which many African domestic workers face discrimination, violence and confiscated passports, and Lebanon has no law defining racial discrimination.
