The US rates Kuwait Level 3 for the threat of Iranian drone and missile attacks, landmines and crime, and the FCDO reports Iranian strikes in Kuwait since July 2026 despite lifting its all-but-essential travel advice. In August 2026 UN CERD experts asked about measures against discrimination towards people of African and Asian descent, reports of about 40,000 migrant deportations in 2025, and hate speech against migrants. High-profile blackface incidents in 2018 and 2020 drew criticism.
