Kazakhstan is a US Level 1 destination and the FCDO lists no areas it advises against, though it notes night-time robberies near bars and drink spiking in major cities. Evidence on Black travellers is thin: Caravanistan's Central Asia guide says Black visitors will stand out, face stares and stereotyping, and that Black women are often presumed to be sex workers, while a 2025 Slavic Review study notes Black experiences in Kazakhstan are largely undocumented.
