Georgia is US Level 1, with the FCDO advising against all travel to Russian-occupied Abkhazia and South Ossetia. ECRI (2023) reported racist assaults against people with darker skin around 2018, including an attack on a Cameroonian man in Rustavi, alongside visible neo-Nazi groups, but noted such hate crimes have become less common and less violent since 2020. There is no large Black community, though African students live in Tbilisi.
