Why this rating
Cameroon is majority-Black and we found no documented pattern of hostility towards Black visitors, but little dedicated Black-traveller reporting either. The score is driven by security: the FCDO advises against all travel to the North-West and South-West regions, most of the Far North and several border zones, and the US rates those areas Level 4. Human Rights Watch reported lethal force and mass arrests after the October 2025 election, with the UN reportedly counting 48 dead.
