Why this rating
The FCDO advises against all but essential travel within 20km of the Thai border after 2025 fighting, but not the rest of Cambodia; the US rates it Level 2. Colourism is well documented, with lighter skin linked to status and skin-whitening products widely sold (Heinrich Böll Stiftung). Cambodia has no visible Black community and there is little credible reporting on Black tourists, so confidence is low.
