Why this rating
Albania is US Level 2 for crime linked to organised crime and drug trafficking, and the FCDO lists no areas it advises against. Black travellers' accounts describe frequent staring but little confrontation, and a Black traveller interviewed by Travel Noire called the Balkans the place he had experienced racism the least. There is almost no local Black community, and formal evidence on anti-Black discrimination is limited.
